What is the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI)?

The National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters Ltd (known as NAATI) is the national standards and certification body for professional translators and interpreters in Australia for most languages including Arabic. NAATI's mission, as outlined in the Constitution, is to; "set and maintain high national standards in translating and interpreting to enable the existence of a pool of accredited translators and interpreters responsive to the changing needs and demography of the Australian community" The core focus of NAATI is issuing credentials (known as accreditations, certifications or recognitions) for professionals who wish to work as translators and interpreters in Australia.

How can I process payment for my NAATI-Arabic translation?

We accept online payments via credit card and accept all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express. There are no additional charges for paying by credit card.

What is a NAATI-certified Arabic translation?

Arabic documents not written in English or without dual-language (English/Arabic), must be professionally translated by a NAATI-certified Arabic translator. In Australia this is required by all government departments to be able to process any requests that need official documentation. You will be required to show your original source document accompanied by the official translation stamped, signed and certified by the NAATI Arabic translator.

Which Arabic-speaking countries do you cover?

We cover all Arabic-speaking countries and any official documentation issued by those countries. Our Arabic translations regardless of the issuing-country are complete by NAATI certified Arabic translators and accepted by all Australian Government Departments. Arabic-speaking countries that we cover include, but are not limited to; Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Algeria, Bahrain, Watar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Tunisia and more.

Will my NAATI Arabic translated document be accepted?

Yes. Your Arabic translation certified by a NAATI translator will be accepted by all Australian Government Departments and official bodies. Guaranteed. In fact, Lexigo boasts a 100% acceptance rate. Furthermore, all Arabic embassies and consulates will also accept your NAATI Arabic translation. Not only do we provide certified translations to individuals, we also provide NAATI accredited Arabic translations to government, organisations and businesses. All Arabic translations are completed by professional, certified NAATI Arabic translators. You will be provided with an official translation that includes the translator's NAATI stamp. We guarantee your NAATI translation will be accepted by the relevant department, or your money back.

How does the Lexigo NAATI guarantee work?

You will receive your full money back; if an Australian Government department has asked you for a NAATI certified translation; and you translate with Lexigo; and your translation was not accepted. In the highly unlikely event your translation was not accepted, Lexigo will need to speak directly to the relevant Government Department to attempt to make any necessary amendments for acceptance and confirm why the translation was not accepted. If the translation is still not accepted, Lexigo will refund your purchase in full.

Why do I need a NAATI certified Arabic translator?

A NAATI Arabic translator must not only know English and Arabic, but must also pass the NAATI certification process. To test their skills and aptitudes for translation, they must sit and pass the process and also continue professional development criteria to maintain their NAATI-certified status.

Does Australia Post accept translations complete by Lexigo's NAATI-certified translation service?

Yes. Australia Post acts on behalf of the government to process certain applications such as Passports for the Australian Passport Office. Their role in the process is not to assess either the passport application or any accompanying documentation such as NAATI-certified translations. The processing of the application and accompanying documentation is assessed by the relevant authorities.

Why are Arabic NAATI-certified translations important?

A certified NAATI translation from Arabic to English is sometimes accompanied by a signed statement that the translation is accurate and complete - most of the time, the translation is simply stamped by the NAATI-certified Arabic translator to also certify the text is true and is in conformity with the original content. In regards to standards, the NAATI website states that; "NAATI assesses translation and interpreting professionals against these standards so that English and non-English speakers can interact effectively with each other, particularly when accessing medical, government and other services" — official NAATI website, www.naati.com.au

Why is Lexigo's pricing for Arabic NAATI translation generally lower in cost than others?

We're always looking for ways to save on time and costs through our own smart technology, and pass those savings on to our customers. Unlike traditional translation agencies, Lexigo can provide translations cheaper, faster and at scale by eliminating common manual processes involved in NAATI accredited translations that you would usually pay a premium for. Which Arabic-speaking countries do you cover?

Which parts of Australia do you service?

Lexigo provides Australia-wide certified NAATI translation services for Arabic to English and English to Arabic (if required by consulate or embassies), this includes all major cities and regional areas, including but not limited to, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin, Perth, Adelaide and Hobart. Original certified NAATI translations can be delivered to all locations across Australia via Australia Post and/or Courier.

What is the difference between NAATI certification and NAATI recognition?

In Australia, there are high-volume languages and low-volume languages which are defined by the size and demand of their respective communities. For new and emerging languages and communities in Australia, NAATI certification may not be available. In this case, NAATI 'recognises' these languages and has yet to formally provide certification testing for these languages and instead provides NAATI recognition. In the event that NAATI certification is not available, you will be supplied with a NAATI recognised translation. Please note Arabic is a NAATI-certified language and your translations will be certified by a NAATI-certified Arabic translator.
